How does the daily puzzle work?

Every day there are five short rounds, worth up to 1,000 points each: Listen, What Comes Next, Spot the Change, Rebuild and In Order. Everyone plays the same ayat that day, and a new puzzle starts at midnight on your phone's clock.

Your progress is saved after every round, so you can stop and come back later the same day.

How do streaks work?

Finish the daily puzzle on consecutive days to grow your streak. Miss a day and it starts again from one; your best streak is always kept on your profile.

Can I practise outside the daily puzzle?

Yes, as much as you like. In Play, choose any of the seven games, or all of them mixed, from Juz ‘Amma, popular surahs or the whole Quran, at easy, medium or hard. In Journey, pick any surah to practise only that surah.

Why does Spot the Change show an ayah with a word changed?

To test your memory, one word of the ayah is swapped for another, and you find it and choose the right word. The altered ayah is always labelled "Altered ayah, not the original text", and as soon as you answer, the original ayah is restored and shown in full, with its reference.

How do duels work?

Start a duel and Juzzle gives you a code to send to a friend in any app. They paste it into Juzzle, play the same five rounds, and you both see the result round by round. There's no account and nothing to sign up for.

Does Juzzle check my recitation?

No. Juzzle tests what you know through puzzles; it doesn't listen to or correct your recitation.

Reading, translations and audio

Which mushaf scripts are there?

The 15-line Indo-Pak mushaf printed in Pakistan and India, and the Uthmani Madinah Mushaf of the King Fahd Complex. Switch between them in Recite › Tt.

Which translations are available?

English, by the Rowwad Translation Center (from QuranEnc.com), and Urdu, by Fateh Muhammad Jalandhari. Choose one in Me › Settings › Quran translation. Both are shown without their footnotes.

Where does the Quran text come from?

From the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, the Tanzil Project and DigitalKhatt, used verbatim and checked against printed mushafs. The full list of sources is in our terms and in the app's credits.

Does Juzzle work offline?

Yes. The puzzles, the mushaf and the translations are all inside the app. Only the recitation needs an internet connection.

Whose recitation is it?

Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy's, ayah by ayah, streamed from EveryAyah.com.

Settings and privacy

How do I change the app's language?

Me › Settings › App language: English, Urdu or Arabic. Urdu and Arabic turn the whole app right to left. The language and the translation are separate choices.

How do I set or turn off the daily reminder?

Me › Settings › Daily reminder. Pick a time, or switch it off. The reminder is scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to us.

Do I need an account?

No. Juzzle has no accounts and no sign-up. Your progress, streak and settings are stored on your phone.

What happens to my progress if I change phones?

Progress lives on your phone, so it doesn't move to a new one, and deleting the app deletes it. Backing up and moving progress is something we'd like to add.

What data does Juzzle collect, and how do I turn it off?

To improve the app, Juzzle sends anonymous usage statistics (for example, that a daily puzzle was finished) and crash reports to Google Firebase. They never include your name, anything you type, or the ayat you were shown.

Turn either off in Me › Settings › Privacy. Everything is explained in our privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

Me › Settings › Reset progress clears your progress on the phone, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. The anonymous statistics aren't linked to you, so they can't be looked up or deleted one person at a time. They expire on their own (usage statistics after 14 months, crash reports after 90 days), and you can stop sending them in Settings.

Is Juzzle free?

Yes. Juzzle is free and has no ads. Reading and listening to the Quran in Juzzle will always be free.
